Admission Requirements


To be admitted to the BSN/MSN track, students must:

  • Be a United States citizen or resident

  • Have completed a medical degree from an accredited non-US university.

  • Have transcripts evaluated by Josef Silny & Associates or by an equivalent transcript evaluating company.

  • Obtain a TOEFL score of 550 or complete ENC 1101 and ENC 1102.

  • Obtain an 80% on the Reading and Comprehension and Math areas of the HESI A2.

  • Successfully complete the following nursing pre-requisites (with grade of C or above): statistics, human growth & development across the life span, human nutrition. Transcripts will be evaluated by the College of Nursing.

NOTE: Please complete the online FIU Application and FEP Nursing Program Application BEFORE requesting transcripts.

  • Request your foreign medical school to send one (1) original transcript in a sealed envelope to:

  • Request one (1) official evaluation of your transcript sent directly from the evaluation agency to:

STEP 4: Test

  • Successfully pass the TOEFL examination (minimum 550).

    • For English language review and practice contact the English Language Institute at FIU, 305-348-2222 for classes and tutoring.

    • Have official TOEFL scores sent to:

  • Successfully complete the HESI A2 Entrance Exam nursing entrance exam. Contact the FIU Testing Center to make an appointment for testing.

    • Have official HESI A2 scores sent to:

STEP 5: Interview & Evaluation

  • All qualified candidates will participate in a personal interview with the FEP admissions committee.

  • Students will be notified of the committee's admission decision following the interview and final review of all documentation.
